her lovely dream.

The day we got married was the most magical day of my life so far.

I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to share this with you, but I hope you enjoy this little glance into our incredibly special day. The wedding photos will be up later this week - so stay tuned!

A huge thank you goes out to Darryl of Noon30 Productions for making this video of our wedding day. He is not only a fantastic friend, but he also makes amazing videos and takes gorgeous photographs as well.

Song #1: I walked down the aisle to this song. It’s called “The One Who Loves You The Most” by Brett Dennen

Song #2: This was mine and C’s first dance song - it was written and sung by my brother, Donnie.

#2 and #16

I recently mentioned that I would be posting a new adventure list for my 26th year, but while I’m still closing out my 25th year, I figured I should probably try and squeeze in a few more activities to cross off my 25 while I’m 25 list. Here’s to crossing off #2 AND #16!

Last night, the hubby and I ventured out to our first ever cooking class together! We were gifted a sushi cookbook as well as a gift certificate to take a sushi making class at Sur La Table for a wedding gift from my brother and his friend. I have always wanted to learn how to make sushi, so this was honestly one of the best gifts we received for our wedding.

We arrived at Sur La Table around 5:50 pm to begin our class at 6 pm. The teacher introduced himself to the class and the 4 of us (myself and Chris as well as one other couple) set forth on washing up to begin making sushi. The instructor took us through the proper way to cook the rice and showed us how to cut it to cool it down while adding the rice vinegar to it. Next, he showed us how to add the rice to the Nori and how to smoosh it down properly with the correct thinness and amount. We then added imitation crab, avocado, wasabi, and veggies to finish off the inside of our California Roll. Then came the hard part. We had to roll up our individual rolls using the bamboo mat. It was quite interesting at first, but basically what it comes down to is you simply roll the sushi up just like a burrito! Once you’ve got the first side tucked into the other, you wet the remaining part of the non-riced Nori and finish off the roll - wha-la! You have yourself your very own California Roll.

We made 3 different sushi rolls and 2 hand-rolls (which were the trickiest to nail down) and were able to enjoy all of our own creations at the end of class. The instructor was pretty blown away by the skill that the 4 of us had and said we were his fastest and best class yet! All in all, I would love to take another (more advanced) sushi making class, but really enjoyed the experience of having someone there to teach you every step of the way.

my beautiful tasty sushi.

(trust me…cutting the sushi was the HARDEST part - hence why mine is not as “pretty” as the husband’s.)

and the husband’s very attractive presentation of his sushi.

Would you or have you ever taken a cooking or baking class?
